THE ARTIST
Heather L. Thompson, maverick artist

Wire Jewelry - The Artist
I earned my Interior Design degree with the Auburn University School of Architecture in 1994, and that's where I first let my artistic imagination run wild. My independent venture, Instinctive Design, was born in 1997 when I first moved to the tropical beaches of the Emerald Coast and began showing in galleries professionally. From the beginning I was strongly influenced by the unique animal life, palmettos, and turquoise waters here, and that influence has never been stronger than in my current work.

Galleries and shops which have sold my work over the years include:
Casa de Cosas Gallery, Pensacola, FL
Woodcock Gallery, Gulf Breeze, FL
Naked Art Gallery, Birmingham, AL
Basic Essence, Panama City Beach, FL
Boondocks, Meridian, MS
Lookout Mountain Gallery, Mentone, AL

Instinctive Design on the web also began back in 1997, and today this art-buyer friendly website has had over 50,000 visitors and allows for instant online purchase by credit card and money order.

But people needed to be introduced to this work in person, not just on the web, so Instinctive Design travelled to an average of twenty Southeastern art shows per year from 2000-2005. Thousands of patrons got to see demonstrations of my original "hair slide" designs and both sales and public support were great out on the road. Now based once again in beautiful Pensacola, Florida, I travel the Yucatan and Caribbean every year in search of new experiences to bring to my tropically-influenced work.

THANK YOU for your patronizing artists and musicians everywhere who bring color to our lives.
